Cummins Road, Burramine

This single-storey residence is designed specifically for a rural setting, where expansive land, natural light, and environmental responsiveness shape the architectural approach. The composition is defined by a symmetrical arrangement of gabled roof forms and a generous wraparound porch, supported by a rhythmic series of vertical columns. These elements establish a clear structural language while providing sheltered outdoor zones suited to rural living—accommodating seasonal variation, social gatherings, and relaxed circulation.

The minimalist design employs a light-toned exterior palette that sits comfortably within the surrounding landscape, enhancing visual harmony with the open sky and sparse vegetation. Large windows and glazed doors flank the central entrance, promoting natural ventilation and uninterrupted views across the site. The low, linear massing reinforces the building’s connection to the ground plane, while the porch acts as a transitional buffer between interior spaces and the expansive outdoors.

This proposal reflects a refined yet practical response to rural residential life—balancing architectural clarity with environmental sensitivity and everyday functionality.
